Kharghar is a town located in Maharashtra’s Raigad district. It is a suburb of Panvel Municipal Corporation. The India Census 2011 had an estimated population of 80,612 people. The town has been developed as an education hub and is node of Navi Mumbai. Its proximity to the city has led to the development of many projects.

There are several prominent colleges in Kharghar. Some of them include the National Institute of Fashion Technology and the Technology and Management Institute. Various school are also present in town. Moreover there are several residential project in the town.

One of the major attractions of the city is Parsik Hill. This scenic spot can be accessed by driving few kilometers from the town. It is a great picnic spot. You can visit this site with your family or group.

As a result many corporate and IT companies have set up their offices in the area. The city is currently being constructed as a polycentric new town with adequate transport facilities. Moreover, the City and Industrial Development Corporation has planned to develop a corporate business park of 140 hectares in the city.

In addition to the above the city has been ranked as the second most livable city in India. In addition the town is also home to the International Infotech Park. Hence government has given the location a lot of attention.
